      Professional carving teams arrive at the Park along Michigan Avenue. ---Public Transportation stops right at the site. The teams sculpt day and night.  They will stay at the:

 (Thursday)

 8 a.m. -Sculpting resumes at the Park.

Continues all day and evening. 

8 p.m. - Sculpting day ends.

 (Friday)

8 a.m. -Sculpting resumes at the Park. By now the sculptures are well formed.

Late afternoon and evening- High school teams continue carving after school.

4 p.m.-8 p.m. General viewing by the public. Spotlights are used to illuminate the sculptures at night. Fantastic photographs can be taken! (See photo at left.)

Late Night- Many adult teams carve all night. They hurry to finish by Saturday afternoon.

 January 30  

 (Saturday)

11 a.m.-4 p.m. This is it! Voting begins. Help choose the People's Choice Award. Ballots are handed out and you get to choose your favorite Snow Sculpture!

3 p.m. All Tools down. Sculpting stops, and the sculptures are finished.

6 p.m.--Award Ceremony Location: Hilton Hotel  (Located right across the street on Michigan Avenue.) 

 1st Place team receives   $1,500.00  2nd Place team receives   $1,000.00 3rd Place team receives    $  500.00 

Evening: The finished snow sculptures remain on display for all to enjoy.

8 p.m.  Site closes- day ends.

 (Sunday)

11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sculptures remain for public viewing.

 February 1 -thru- ?

 (Monday)

Sculptures remain standing for public viewing until they melt, or are taken down. It could be days, it could be a week or more- depending on weather conditions. Lighting may not be available after dark.
